The Amazing Adventures of Two Girls on a Bike

Welcome to the adventurous, thoughtful and occasionally humorous journal of our training escapades in preparation for two great century bike rides:  Harbor to the Bay (H2B) and El Tour de Tucson.  Becca and I rode these in 2009 as members of Team Fenway.

You can read the complete adventures and track our success in the category, Two Girls on a Bike.  Though we are no longer training for these rides, I continue to share our cycling adventures here.

Both were one-day rides…  Our H2B ride (my second!) was on September 12, 2009.  The route runs from Boston to Provincetown (125 miles!).  El Tour de Tucson is 109  miles of beautiful Sonoran mountain range vistas complete with the backdrop of the mighty saguaro cactus.  We completed it on November 21, 2009.

We trained for and participated in two century rides in one year and our friends, families, and supporters directed their funds to the Fenway Community Health Center.  We supported this organization because it serves a community whose health concerns are often overlooked and sometimes ignored.  Fenway provides high quality, comprehensive health care to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender in a welcoming environment.

100% of the money raised went to our selected charity, as all expenses for the H2B Ride are covered by the registration fees and private corporate donations.  All contributions, payable to H2B (a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization), are also 100% tax-deductible as provided by law.

The support meant  so much to us and lives of so many we live with.

With determination and love,

Two Girls on a Bike
